“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13 ESV)
This is one of my favorite scriptures to know. It’s short and it’s powerful. It’s easy to memorize. However, I used to use this scripture without knowing the full knowledge of its power. The key phrase is the end. Many times we believe that we can do all things because we are saved. That’s not how it works. We can do all things when we allow God to strengthen us. It’s not automatic. I’ll never forget when I was listening to one of my father’s teachings and he said: “God can not go past your will when it comes to Him using you.” God desires to strengthen us so that we can do all things but if our belief system is contrary, it won’t work.
My father also taught one time this powerful key: “Where there is no word, there is no power.” Our strength that comes from God comes from His Word. If you have no Word within you, you will not be able to do all things. I’ve looked at areas in my life where I was falling. I was not applying the Word. Instead, I was applying my personal belief system which included fear, low self-esteem, previous experiences, and more that were all contrary to the Word of God.
I had to transform how I “could do all things”. You can’t do ALL things without God. You can do some things but you can’t do ALL things. Don’t you want to do ALL things? I was getting tired of not having it ALL. I switched my approach and I began to apply the Word to areas where I was falling short or disbelief crept in. I began to confess the Word. I didn’t allow myself to repeat the unbelief over and over again. I spoke the Word instead because the Word had power.
God is doing amazing things in your life. He has more for you to do. However, you need to realize that the Word is what brings you power to do all of those things. How are you using the Word to provide you with power? I challenge you for the next several days to do the following:
- Find an area in your life that you have not applied the Word
- Find 3 scriptures that match that area in your life
- Spend the next 3 days speaking the Word in that area every morning and night
God is strengthening you to do ALL things as you apply the Word.
Wake Up & Win Confession: Good Morning Holy Spirit. I thank you that you strengthen me with Your Word. I thank you that I have the mind of Christ to think good thoughts about myself. I will use the Word on a daily basis as my response to doubt and unbelief. I thank You that I can do ALL things through You because You strengthen me with Your Word. I am strong because of Your Word. I am powerful because of Your power. Thank you Heavenly Father that I lack nothing. Thank you Heavenly Father that I am more than equipped to accomplish what You’ve called me to do! Amen.
