“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7 ESV)

What is the biblical definition of rest? Is it defined by not doing anything? Rest is actually a form of faith. It’s trusting and not relying solely upon our own hands. While God has anointed the works of our hands, work isn’t enough to obtain the promises of God and peace. Rest is a key function in our faith walk. Trusting God means leaving what we can not do in His hands. Be encouraged to not do what is not your job. Let God do His job and you rest in that. Our anxious thoughts make us think that somehow we are always missing something to do and if we just do this or do that, things will turn out better. It’s almost as if God doesn’t know all.

Wake Up & Win Confession: Good Morning Holy Spirit. I thank you that I find my rest in you. You are my peace and my joy. I thank you that you have provided for me an open door for me to communicate with you. I thank you for your love. I thank you that you take my burdens and understand what I go through. You are with me. You are my guard and my shield. I rest in your arms today. What I can not do I have the faith to know that you will handle it. Thank you for being my Father! In Jesus Name, Amen.
